In the heart of Rhineland-Palatinate, the Swiss automotive powerhouse Kestenholz Group continues its growth trajectory in Germany. Founded in 1952 in Niederdorf near Basel, the company has been steadily expanding its footprint in the German market for over 25 years.

The latest addition to its portfolio is the commercial vehicle and van segment at the Koblenz branch location (Friedrich-Mohr-Straße), which it will take over from Mercedes-Benz AG on October 1, 2025. As a long-standing Mercedes partner, Kestenholz aims to further develop the Koblenz location with modern sales concepts.

This acquisition significantly strengthens Kestenholz Group's position in Rhineland-Palatinate, complementing its existing portfolio in the region. In 2023, the company acquired AHG-Newel, Auto-Weber, and the Falter Group, followed by Autohaus Lehmann in 2024. Most recently, in 2025, Kestenholz acquired Autohaus Johann Wedig.

The integration of the Koblenz branch location will be seamless, mirroring the smooth transitions that marked the acquisitions of its predecessors. The takeover includes the distribution of commercial vehicles and vans, as well as the complete Mercedes-Benz passenger car service in the Koblenz area.

For the employees at the Koblenz location, the change to Kestenholz offers a new perspective within an owner-managed company with a clear strategic orientation. Christian Coutelle, COO for the Rhine economic region, stated that the group aims to ensure proven quality and continuity for both customers and staff.

Kestenholz Group currently employs around 1,450 people at 21 locations and generates an annual turnover of approximately 750 million euros. The company prides itself on providing a reliable and high-quality brand experience to customers, from consultation to after-sales service.

Expanding into Germany over two decades ago, Kestenholz has grown to cover a vast market area that extends from Montabaur to Simmern, Enkirch, and Cochem in Rhineland-Palatinate. However, there are no available records or information about which companies Kestenholz has acquired in Germany from 2022 to 2025 in the provided search results.

Despite this gap in information, one thing is clear: Kestenholz Group shows no signs of slowing down in its mission to become a leading player in the German automotive market.
