Melnikov has assumed the role of CEO at DIHK
New CEO Appointed at German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK)
Helena Melnikov, a seasoned executive with over two decades of experience in association work, has been appointed as the new CEO of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) in Berlin. The change in leadership is set to take place on January 1, 2025, marking a new era for the significant organization in the German business sector.
Melnikov's career in association work spans across various industries, including materials management, purchasing, logistics, commodities, wholesale, foreign trade, and services. Before her appointment at DIHK, she served as CEO of the German Association for Materials Management, Purchasing, and Logistics, the Commodity Association of the Hamburg Stock Exchange, and the German Association of Wholesale, Foreign Trade, and Services.
Martin Wansleben, the current CEO of DIHK, will retire at the end of 2024 after 23 years of service at the Chamber. Melnikov's appointment comes as a fresh perspective and expertise to the role, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.
Melnikov, who is a doctor of laws and a fully qualified lawyer, has been actively communicating DIHK's positions on trade issues, particularly related to U.S. tariff policies and their impact on German businesses.
