Mediaservice Wasmuth Takes Over ZMG's Print Planning Tools, Expands Services
Mediaservice Wasmuth has announced it will continue operating key print planning tools and expand its services, following the discontinuation of the Zeitungsmarktforschung Gesellschaft (ZMG). Starting January 2026, Mediaservice Wasmuth will take over the main tasks and products of the ZMG, including the operation of the ZMG-Zeitungsatlas and the online booking portal OBS. The ZMG-Zeitungsatlas, a leading tool for calculating print advertisements, offers detailed maps of the distribution areas of regional daily newspapers. OBS, the standard for online booking of ads in newspapers, magazines, and advertising sheets in Germany, will also be managed by Mediaservice Wasmuth. The company plans to integrate the ZMG-Zeitungsatlas into its planning software regio.planbasix in the medium term. Additionally, Mediaservice Wasmuth intends to expand OBS to include digital advertisements in the near future. The company will also prepare and supply market data for the studies of IVW and agma moving forward. With the takeover of ZMG's services, Mediaservice Wasmuth strengthens its position in the print and digital advertising market. The company will continue to operate the ZIS planning program, ZMG-Zeitungsatlas, and OBS, while also expanding its services to include digital advertisements and market data provision.
