Major Construction Industry Probe: 11 Suspected of Severe Crimes
Authorities have initiated a significant probe into suspected grave crimes in the construction sector. The investigation targets 11 individuals, aged between 30 and 48, including six men and five women. Two asset seizures have been enforced, and searches have taken place across multiple regions.
The investigation revolves around suspected illicit employment practices at a solar park construction site. On May 20, 2025, the Frankfurt (Oder) Financial Control Department suspected 11 out of 17 workers of unauthorized work. Some suspects are believed to operate service companies creating and selling cover invoices, while others run a construction company providing services worth around 5 million euros using illegal wages paid with cover invoices.
Authorities suspect withholding and misappropriation of social security contributions, tax evasion, and fraudulent activity. The total damage to social security carriers is estimated at around 1.4 million euros. The Main Customs Office Frankfurt am Main searched 23 residential and business premises, including two construction sites, in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Berlin. Around 290 deployment forces were involved, with arrest warrants executed against two men aged 40 and 41, and two asset seizures enforced.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities determined to uncover the full extent of the suspected crimes. The enforcement of asset seizures and execution of arrest warrants indicate the gravity of the allegations. The public can anticipate further updates as the case progresses.
