Local residents of Armavir express dissatisfaction over the recently established bus stop
In the heart of Armavir, a new bus stop is taking shape along Lenin Street, between the 6th and 7th Lines. However, the construction process and its placement have sparked controversy among local residents.
The bus stop, which is fully compliant with road safety requirements, has been installed with regulatory visibility at each exit. Yet, concerns have been raised about its placement, as it is reportedly being built directly opposite a specific house, deviating from the construction scheme that showed it should have been 1/3 opposite a different house.
Residents argue that the new bus stop is installed with violations regarding the normal distance between stops, with a distance of only 200-250 meters, while the rules state it should be 300-400 meters. If the bus stop were placed between the 7th Line and 8th Line streets, the distances between stops would be normal, at 350-380 meters.
To ensure unhindered access to private homes, the curb at the new bus stop has been lowered. Yet, the proximity of the bus stop to a healthy lime tree on a remaining driveway to a house in Armavir is causing issues for the house owner, who cannot drive due to the tree's presence.
Felling permits for the trees on Lenin Street 264, where the trees are hindering the bus stop plan, come at a cost. This has led to a standoff, with residents filing a complaint and appealing to the prosecutor's office to protect their rights.
Local resident Pavel Okruzko has been trying to meet with the mayor of Armavir for several days to discuss the construction of the bus stop. However, there is no information available about the mayor rejecting the construction of the new bus station, despite residents identifying the construction shortcomings.
The Armavir administration has reported that all work on the new bus stop is carried out in strict accordance with GOST, SP, and the city's road traffic organization project. The construction of the bus stop is not violating any construction schemes, as it is being installed at the correct location.
However, the placement of the bus stop within the visibility triangle may pose a risk of traffic accidents. The bus stop is being built closer to the next stop than the norm, with a distance of about 500 meters between it and the next stop, exceeding the norm.
Despite the local municipality's disagreement with the residents' arguments, the ongoing debate highlights the importance of consideration for both public transportation needs and the rights of private property owners in urban planning decisions.
