Lebanese Man Indicted for Aiding Hizb Allah Drone Attacks
Lebanese national Fadel Z. faces serious charges following his provisional arrest on 14 July 2024. The Federal Public Prosecutor's Office has indicted him at the Celle Higher Regional Court, accusing him of aiding and abetting attempted murder, belonging to a terrorist organization, and violating the Foreign Trade and Payments Act.
Fadel Z. is suspected of being a key operative in Hizb Allah's drone program. He joined the organization before 2015, initially serving as a media relations officer. Later, he played a crucial role in acquiring drone components worth nearly 1.4 million Euros from various countries, using front and letterbox companies to conceal the transactions.
Investigations revealed that Fadel Z. organized the transport of these goods to Lebanon, either by ship or air cargo. Two engines purchased by him were installed in drones directed against Israel. One of these drones exploded in a retirement home in Herzliya near Tel Aviv on 11 October 2024. Hizb Allah, a militant Islamist organization, maintains an extensive drone program with over 10,000 drones, using them to launch attacks on both military and civilian targets in Israel.
Fadel Z.'s role in facilitating Hizb Allah's drone program has led to serious charges against him. His provisional arrest and subsequent indictment highlight the international community's commitment to countering terrorist activities. The investigation into his actions and the companies involved in supplying drone components continues.
