Law firm CMS IndusLaw secures hiring of Abeezar Faizullabhoy, along with two partners, from Argus law firm.

Senior Partner Abeezar Faizullabhoy of Argus has stepped down to link up with CMS IndusLaw, along with Partners Murtaza Kachwalla and S.M. Algaus. Their joint move aims to strengthen CMS IndusLaw's Disputes Resolution Practice in Mumbai.

Abeezar Faizullabhoy, a seasoned dispute resolution and corporate advisory expert with over 35 years of experience, has joined CMS IndusLaw. Faizullabhoy, who previously handled numerous matters under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, and regularly advised on the enforcement of foreign decrees and arbitral awards in India, is looking forward to contributing to CMS IndusLaw's vision of building a cutting-edge, new-age law firm.

Faizullabhoy is joined by Murtaza Kachwalla and S.M. Algaus, both of whom bring over 16 and 35 years of experience in litigation, dispute resolution, and arbitration to the table. Kachwalla, in particular, has represented clients in complex commercial disputes before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, and specialised tribunals. He also has significant experience in domestic and international arbitrations and advises on real estate matters.

The arrival of these three senior lawyers at CMS IndusLaw significantly strengthens the firm's Disputes Resolution Practice in Mumbai. Their expertise and leadership are expected to bolster the firm's capabilities in handling complex litigation, arbitrations, insolvency matters, and the enforcement of foreign decrees and arbitral awards in India.

Avimukt Dar and Suneeth Katarki, Founding and Senior Partners of CMS IndusLaw, expressed delight at the new joinings. They believe that the addition of Faizullabhoy, Kachwalla, and Algaus will not only strengthen the Disputes Practice but also contribute to other practice areas.

In addition to his dispute resolution work, Faizullabhoy has a rich corporate commercial practice. He has advised on joint ventures, angel and private equity investments, shareholders' and share purchase agreements, technology transfers, and issues under FDI regulations, the Companies Act, FEMA, and other commercial laws.

With these new additions, CMS IndusLaw is poised for growth and expansion in Mumbai, particularly in sectors such as manufacturing, technology, and retail. Faizullabhoy's strategic leadership and deep experience before courts, tribunals, and arbitration forums are expected to play a pivotal role in driving the growth and development of CMS IndusLaw's Mumbai office.
