Upgraded Ride for Sverdlovsk's Finest!
Yesterday marked a momentous occasion for the police motor battalion in Sverdlovsk. They received a fresh batch of motorcycles as a gift, courtesy of the regional budget.
As per Valery Goryachev, the head of the regional police press service, these motorcycles were a necessity given the surge in road traffic. Goryachev affirmed, "Strong and modern motorcycles have shown their worth. Our motor battalion has already received similar equipment totaling 8 units. Six new motorcycles, specifically tailored for service, boast powerful engines and a suite of handy features." These upgrades will enhance mobility and superior road safety, he added.
In 2024 alone, this motor-savvy team played a pivotal role in preventing 640 violations, nabbing eight offenders under Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code – driving under the influence of alcohol. The squad apprehended 145 reckless drivers without a license, 10 impaired drivers, 46 unregistered vehicles, and towed away 84 cars to impound lots. Furthermore, these vehicles equipped with MVD badges can be deployed to secure mass gatherings and sporting events, accompanying foreign delegations during International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM", Goryachev noted.
