In a significant move for the Russian port industry, the Novorossiysk Grain Terminal (NRT) is currently undergoing a major investment project aimed at increasing its grain handling capacity. This development was shared by Governor Kondratyev on his Telegram channel.

The project, worth 17.8 billion rubles, is being implemented by the company "Novorossiysk Grain Terminal". It involves the construction of new warehouses and two berths at the terminal, as well as the modernization of infrastructure. The modernization is expected to be completed by 2029, with the aim of increasing grain reception volumes in the port of Novorossiysk.

The upgrade project is a substantial enhancement in the terminal’s capacity, more than doubling its current operational levels. The planned grain handling volume at the terminal is 13 million tons per year, a significant increase from last year's 7.2 million tons. The emphasis is on boosting annual throughput to meet increasing demand.

The agreement on the modernization was reached during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), where prospects for further cooperation were discussed. Governor Kondratyev expressed gratitude to the company's management for their investments, highlighting the positive impact they are expected to have on the region's economy.

Construction is currently underway, with the project reportedly ahead of schedule. The modernization is expected to significantly improve the port's efficiency and competitiveness, positioning Novorossiysk as one of the largest seaports in the country.

Vladislav Zhukov, the managing director of Novorossiysk Grain Terminal, is leading the project. The company's investments are a testament to their commitment to the port's growth and development, and to meeting the demands of the ever-evolving global grain market.
