Kazakhstan's Mazhilis Approves Law to Improve Kazakh Text Presentation
Kazakhstan's Mazhilis has approved a draft law on visual information, aiming to improve text presentation in Kazakh and eliminate errors on banners and price tags. The law, which introduces requirements for adherence to orthographic norms and authentic translation of texts, was welcomed by the Minister of Culture and Sports, Aktoty Raimkulova.
The draft law, titled 'On the Visual Information', seeks to strengthen legal regulation of the placement of details and visual information in the state and other languages. It aims to prevent discrepancies in meaning and content between texts presented in two languages.
The law provides for the creation of a judicial college for administrative cases at the Supreme Court level. Similar institutions will be established at the level of regional courts to allow for a more prompt response to the constantly changing situation regarding the distribution of cases. Deputies also approved amendments to the law 'On the Judicial System and the Status of Judges', abolishing the specialized judicial college of the Supreme Court.
The new law, once enacted, will ban orthographic errors on banners and price tags in Kazakhstan. It is expected to ensure the quality of text presentation in Kazakh, enhancing the country's visual information landscape. The Ministry of Culture and Sports, under Minister Aktoty Raimkulova, will oversee the implementation of these measures.
