Kazakhstan Strengthens Strategic Partnership with Germany

In a meeting at Akorda, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of Germany as a key strategic partner within the European Union and one of Kazakhstan's leading investors. Anke Rehlinger, the German President's cabinet chief, expressed her willingness to contribute to the advancement of mutual goals for the benefit of both countries.

During the discussion, the focus was on enhancing trade-economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany. The progress and importance of this partnership were underscored, with Kazakhstan being Germany's top economic partner in Central Asia, accounting for 81% of its total trade in the region.

Recent political reforms undertaken by Kazakhstan were highlighted in the meeting, affirming the country's commitment to economic policy priorities. The two leaders also agreed to foster partnership in trade and IT.

In a separate encounter, President Tokayev met with President Paul Kagame of Rwanda at Akorda, and they agreed to bolster cooperation in trade and IT.

The evolving partnership between Kazakhstan and Germany is characterized by significant investments in non-resource sectors, such as manufacturing, chemicals, construction materials, transport, and agriculture. Moreover, the number of enterprises with German capital operating in Kazakhstan is steadily increasing, marking the growing bilateral economic relationship.

The discourse on enhancing cooperation extend to educational programs like dual education and the implementation of advanced technologies in water management. These collaborations are aimed at fostering resource management and promoting innovation in various sectors.
