JLR Resumes Production After Cyber Attack, Q2 Results in November

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced that production lines for the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models in its Solihull facility will resume later this week. The company will also release its full financial results for the second quarter of the 2026 fiscal year in November.

The restart comes after a significant cyber incident that crippled manufacturing operations, leading to a 25% drop in volume sales for the three months up to September 30. Wholesales in the second quarter of the 2026 fiscal year were 66,165 units, a 24.2% reduction compared to the same period in the previous year. Retail sales also fell by 17.1% during the same period.

The cyber incident, the planned wind down of legacy Jaguar models, and incremental US tariffs all contributed to the sales and operational challenges faced by JLR. The company has begun a phased restart of manufacturing operations more than a month after shutting down systems due to the cyber-attack. The restart will begin at the Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC) and Battery Assembly Centre (BAC) on October 8, 2025, with JLR staff returning to work at various UK production plants and facilities on the same day.

The restart of production and the return of staff to UK facilities mark a significant step towards recovery for JLR following the cyber incident. The company's full financial results for the second quarter of the 2026 fiscal year, to be released in November, will provide further insight into the impact of the incident on the business.
