JCB Unveils Guide to Help European Retailers Tap into Asian Travellers' Spending

JCB has released a new guide, 'Asian Traveller Personas - Inspiring European Merchants to Unlock Greater Spend', to help European retailers understand and cater to Asian travellers' spending habits. The guide, launched by JCB's Managing Director Ray Shinzawa, aims to capitalise on the growing Asian consumer market in Europe.

Asian travellers' spending in Europe is increasing significantly, but merchants often struggle to understand their diverse customer base. To address this, JCB's guide introduces five unique Asian traveller personas visiting Europa. These include the Security-Seeking Family Spender, who prioritises safety and is willing to pay more for it, and the Social Deal Hunter, who loves a good bargain and shares experiences on social media.

The guide also presents the Premium Traveller, who seeks luxury and exclusivity, the Value Gift Hunter, who looks for unique, affordable souvenirs, and the Acceptance-Driven Digital Nomad, who values inclusivity and seamless digital experiences. The guide provides insights into positive spending triggers and payment frictions for each persona, helping merchants tailor their strategies for higher spend and loyalty.
