Jaguar Land Rover Recalls 121,509 Vehicles Over Suspension Risk
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is recalling 121,509 vehicles in the US due to concerns about cracked front suspension knuckles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has determined that all affected vehicles could potentially have this defect.
The recall affects Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models from 2014 to 2017. A defect in the front suspension upper knuckle joint could lead to a crack, potentially causing the upper suspension arm to detach and increasing the risk of a crash. The NHTSA's preliminary evaluation in June investigated 91,856 vehicles for this issue. JLR has documented 96 claims and field reports related to the Range Rover and 14 concerning the Range Rover Sport in the US due to this issue. Vehicle owners will be contacted to bring their cars to an authorized JLR service center for inspection and potential repair or replacement of the front suspension knuckle at no cost. Dealer notifications are scheduled to commence by 19 August 2025, with owner notification letters to be distributed by 30 September.
This recall comes as Tata Motors, JLR's parent company, reported a decline in quarterly net profit due to reduced demand and US trade tariffs. Despite the recall, no accidents, fires, or injuries have been reported due to this issue.
