Jaguar Land Rover Moves XE Production to Castle Bromwich, Invests £1bn in EVs
Jaguar Land Rover has announced significant changes to its production plans. The Jaguar XE, previously produced at Solihull, will now be built at Castle Bromwich alongside the XJ, XF, and F-Type. This move is part of a £100m investment to accommodate increased demand for the F-Pace.
The relocation of the XE production is not the only change at Castle Bromwich. Jaguar Land Rover has invested £1 billion in the site, focusing on the development of three new electric vehicles. This investment will also see the installation of new press lines, body shops, and assembly halls to facilitate the production of the XE.
Meanwhile, Solihull will continue to operate at full capacity, producing the Jaguar F-Pace and various Land Rover models in three shifts to meet the growing demand for these vehicles.
The Jaguar XE will join the XJ, XF, and F-Type at Castle Bromwich, with production set to begin soon. This move, along with the £1 billion investment in electric vehicle development and new facilities, signals Jaguar Land Rover's commitment to the Castle Bromwich site and its future in the automotive industry.
