IPGL to Build New Road Crossing Over S-Bahn Track in Bergisch Gladbach
The Infrastructure and Project Management Company Bergisch Gladbach (IPGL) has been tasked with constructing a new road crossing over the S-Bahn track in Bergisch Gladbach. This project, linked to the expansion of the S11 line, aims to improve accessibility and mobility in the city. Dr. Sebastian Michalsky, IPGL's Managing Director, expressed the company's delight in undertaking this project.
The new road crossing will replace the outdated railway crossing at Tannenbergstraße, which is set to close. It will connect from the Britannia hut to the triangle junction, including connections to the Kalk street. The city, in collaboration with IPGL, Deutsche Bahn, and go.Rheinland, is working towards a 'traffic-friendly redesign of the triangle junction' (Verkehrsgerechter Umbau des Dreiecksknotens). Ragnar Migenda, First Deputy Mayor, views this project as a long-term mobility improvement for the city. IPGL is currently tendering planning services for the road crossing project, aiming to provide a high-performance solution for both car and heavy traffic.
The new road crossing, a significant milestone in Bergisch Gladbach's traffic infrastructure development, is set to enhance mobility and accessibility. IPGL's involvement, along with the city, Deutsche Bahn, and go.Rheinland, ensures a collaborative approach towards this crucial project.
