Investment manager Natixis IM promotes a new leader for sustainability on a global scale.
Natixis Investment Managers Appoints Nathalie Wallace as Global Head of Sustainable Investing
Natixis Investment Managers, a leading French multi-boutique firm, has announced the appointment of Nathalie Wallace as its Global Head of Sustainable Investing, effective September 1. Wallace will oversee the development and creation of sustainable investment strategies across various approaches.
In her new role, Wallace will report to Natixis' global head of sales, Joseph Pinto, and collaborate closely with the management of all Natixis subsidiaries. Prior to her appointment, Wallace led the sustainable strategies and development team at Natixis' boutique Mirova.
Under Wallace's leadership, Natixis Investment Managers is implementing key sustainable investment strategies primarily through its specialist subsidiaries, such as Mirova. The focus is on consolidating energy transition infrastructure, natural capital, and private equity activities into an integrated real assets platform. This aims to accelerate responsible investment in sectors aligned with environmental and social impact goals.
Mirova has also established research centers and academic partnerships, such as with Columbia University and ENSAE Paris, to advance responsible investment knowledge and maximize the positive impact of listed strategies. Additionally, the firm pursues strategic mergers to bolster thematic sustainable investment offerings, enhancing innovation and positive impact globally.
The firm has declared sustainability as a strategic focus and desires that sustainability be integrated across all Natixis boutiques. By 2024, half of the firm's €1.15 trillion in assets under management should be invested in sustainable strategies. By the same year, all Natixis boutiques should have signed onto the United Nations' Principles for Responsible Investment.
While Natixis had offered focused sustainable target-date funds to simplify sustainable retirement investing, these funds are being liquidated as of July 2025, signaling a shift or refinement in their sustainable product offerings. Despite some liquidations, Natixis remains among the top asset managers experiencing positive inflows in European sustainable funds in 2025, reflecting ongoing commitment to active and passive sustainable strategies.
These strategies reflect a comprehensive sustainable investment framework integrating innovation, impact, and research to advance ESG objectives. The focus is on combining sustainability with innovation, research, and thematic investment to strengthen Natixis’ position in global sustainable finance.
With Wallace at the helm, Natixis Investment Managers is poised to make significant strides in sustainable investing, leveraging her expertise and leadership in the field.
