Investment Firm Gameplay Galaxy Raises Extended Seed Funding of $11 Million, Jointly Overseen by Blockchain Capital and Merit Circle
Gameplay Galaxy, a Web3 games studio, is set to launch its highly anticipated blockchain-based extreme sports racing game, Trial Xtreme Freedom, in the first quarter of 2025. With a team of over 50 industry veterans, the studio aims to push gaming innovation by combining the success of its popular Trial Xtreme series with blockchain-powered features that foster a thriving, decentralized player community.
Competitive Gameplay and Player-Driven Ecosystem
Trial Xtreme Freedom offers competitive extreme sports gameplay with challenging tracks, immersive 3D environments, and the opportunity to compete, buy, evolve, and trade bikes and other in-game assets within a decentralized ecosystem powered by blockchain. Players can influence gameplay, ensuring a persistent and evolving competitive arena.
The game features enhanced game components such as new bikes and levels, an improved garage and bike crafting system, redesigned festival zones, new tournaments and characters, enhanced physics and visual effects for realistic simulation, and supports mobile platforms with realistic 3D graphics and smooth bike stunt racing gameplay. It targets Android devices running Android 13.0 and above.
Web3 Integration and Player Empowerment
In Trial Xtreme Freedom, players can craft, upgrade, and own bikes. They can also host their own events and tournaments through track ownership. Players can engage with web3 elements as optional features at their own pace.
Gameplay Galaxy has raised $24 million in total, with an extended seed round of $11.17 million. The funding was structured as equity with token warrants, valuing the gaming studio at $71 million. The round was co-led by Blockchain Capital and Merit Circle.
Doron Kagan, founder and CEO of Gameplay Galaxy, previously led the free-to-play game studio Deemedya. Kagan left Deemedya in 2022 to build Gameplay Galaxy. Deemedya is known for creating popular gaming titles like the Trial Xtreme series, the Rope Escape series, and Game of Winds.
Kagan sees blockchain as the natural evolution for the gaming industry. With Trial Xtreme Freedom, players can earn tokens by playing games, adding a new layer of engagement and reward.
The Trial Xtreme brand, with over 300 million downloads, has been reimagined as a web3 ecosystem for extreme sports games by Gameplay Galaxy. The full launch for Trial Xtreme Freedom is planned for the first quarter of 2025. Players are invited to join this exciting new world of competitive extreme sports racing, where they can own, trade, and evolve their in-game assets, and influence the game's development and direction.
