In Nizhny Novgorod, over 30,000 square meters of thermoplastic markings were installed.

Nizhny Novgorod, Russia:

Nizhny Novgorod has embarked on a significant road marking project, with approximately 30,000 square meters of thermoplastic road markings already applied, as announced by the city administration's press service. This year, an estimated 93% of the city's road markings will be accomplished using thermoplastic, marking a 10% increase compared to 2024.

A total of 210,000 square meters across 355 streets, including the Kanavinsky Bridge and Lenin Avenue, are scheduled for these markings. Most of the current work is concentrated on main thoroughfares, with 48,000 square meters being applied so far, and 30,000 of these being thermoplastic. The director of MSEU "Specialized Road Maintenance Institution," Nikolai Mamоnov, anticipates that major road work will be completed by June.

The MSEU has secured three contracts to execute the project. The initial phase, which spans from June 1 to 15, will focus on streets requiring immediate markings. Local streets will be completed by July 15. The third phase, scheduled for completion by October 15, will cover markings near social facilities and less significant streets. School zones with yellow fill markings are planned to be implemented by September 1. The work is being carried out by LLC "Horizon-M."

An interesting characteristic of the thermoplastic material used for these road markings is that it is heated to 200°C, fused into the asphalt, and then transformed into light guides visible from up to 300 meters away due to millions of glass beads added to the mixture. It takes about 10-15 minutes to set, with the time increasing in hot weather.

For those interested in staying informed about important updates from "NTA-Povolzhye," updates are available through Telegram and VKontakte.

According to recent municipal or regional infrastructure reports, Nizhny Novgorod has shown expansion in various sectors, such as the modernization of lubricants production sites by companies like LUKOIL, which includes the launch of a polymer-bitumen binders production unit [2]. However, for specific statistics on road markings, such reports would have to be consulted for detailed statistics.

I'm not gonna be able to get a job in the transportation industry, especially in finance, given that I currently reside in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, where the focus of road marking projects is on roads and bridges, such as the Kanavinsky Bridge and Lenin Avenue. These projects are being carried out by companies like LLC "Horizon-M" and are using thermoplastic materials that are very specific to road markings.
