IFFCO Gets a New Managing Director: K. J. Patel Assumes Role, Replaces Dr. U. S. Awasthi
In a significant move for the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), K.J. Patel has been appointed as the new Managing Director (MD). The announcement was made by IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani on 31st July 2025, 10:04 IST.
Patel, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Saurashtra University, brings over 32 years of extensive experience in the fertilizer industry to his new role. He specializes in the operation and maintenance of nitrogenous and phosphatic fertilizer plants, a skillset that will undoubtedly benefit IFFCO.
Prior to his appointment, Patel served as Director (Technical) at IFFCO. Notably, he headed IFFCO's Paradeep Unit in Odisha, the largest integrated fertilizer complex in India. Under his leadership, the Paradeep Unit achieved significant improvements in productivity and operational efficiency, earning him recognition for his commitment to sustainable growth and innovation in the fertilizer sector.
Dr. U.S. Awasthi, the outgoing MD, has handed over the charge to Patel. In response to his appointment, Patel expressed gratitude to Chairman Dileep Sanghani and Vice Chairman Balvir Singh. He stated that he was honoured by the trust placed in him and would give "more than 100% for the service of farmers."
