Hyundai Ioniq 9: Redefining Acoustic Comfort in Electric Vehicles

The Hyundai Ioniq 9, a new electric vehicle that has recently become available in Germany, is setting a new standard for acoustic comfort. This premium vehicle offers a serene and comfortable driving experience, thanks to a combination of advanced noise reduction technologies and high-quality materials.

At the heart of the Ioniq 9's exceptional acoustic comfort is active noise cancellation (ANC). This technology works similarly to modern noise-cancelling headphones, recognizing disruptive frequencies and emitting targeted anti-phase sound waves to counteract them.

The vehicle also boasts double-paned acoustic windows and an acoustic laminated windshield, which significantly block outside sound. Further sound absorption is provided by materials placed in the wheel wells to minimize tire noise intrusion.

Structural measures have been implemented to minimize wind and road noise as well. Reinforced door frames with integrated structural foam improve the cabin's tightness, reducing wind noise to just 62 decibels.

The Ioniq 9's base model uses a 160 kW (218 PS) rear-wheel-drive powertrain. Two other models offer all-wheel-drive with either 226 kW (307 PS) or 315 kW (428 PS) power.

The Ioniq 9's maximum fast-charging power is up to 233 kW, and all versions of the vehicle come with a battery storage capacity of 110 kWh. The charging time from 10 to 80 percent is a quick 24 minutes.

The Ioniq 9 offers an even further reduced noise level inside the cabin through active noise cancellation and comprehensive soundproofing measures. Conversations in the rear or soft music can be enjoyed undisturbed due to these soundproofing measures.

The Ioniq 9 comes standard with seven seats, with an optional configuration for six individual seats. The Bose sound system is standard from the "Techniq" trim level in the Ioniq 9.

Ulrich Mechau, President & CEO of Hyundai Motor Germany, states that the Ioniq 9 is a premium vehicle not just in terms of equipment and driving dynamics, but also in acoustic comfort. The Ioniq 9's combined energy consumption, in kWh/100 km, is given as 20.6-19.9. According to the WLTP standard, the Ioniq 9's range is up to 620 kilometers.

The Hyundai Ioniq 9, priced from 68,500 euros, is a testament to Hyundai's commitment to innovation and quality. With its superior acoustic comfort, powerful performance, and impressive range, the Ioniq 9 is truly a game-changer in the electric vehicle market.
