Huawei and BAIC's joint automotive brand, Stelato, hints at the upcoming S9T estate model release
Stelato S9T Wagon Set for Market Launch in September 2025
The Stelato S9T, a luxury electric station wagon, is set to make its debut this fall, marking the expansion of the Stelato brand beyond the premium sedan market. This new model is a joint venture between Huawei and BAIC Group.
The Stelato S9T, with its dimensions of approximately 5160 mm in length, 2005 mm in width, and 1492 mm in height, and a 3050 mm wheelbase, offers increased interior space and versatility for family and long trips. It is the wagon variant of the Stelato S9 sedan.
The exterior of the Stelato S9T follows Stelato’s “Cosmic Aesthetics” design philosophy, featuring a distinctive “Starlight Headlight” with intricate “Star Diamond” craftsmanship and a “Nebula Taillight” strip. The rear trunk space is optimized, and it offers multiple exterior color options such as Fairy Green, Flowing Silver, Cosmic Red, and a Black Obsidian package.
Inside, the cabin incorporates a horizontal dashboard with a large central touchscreen and a passenger display. Additional luxury elements include a co-pilot zero-gravity seat, a compressor-based hot/cold box adjustable between -6 to 50 °C, multiple smart electric doors, B-pillar air vents, four electric sunshades, and a 16.8 million-color flowing ambient lighting system. Interior color options include Chicha Orange, Truffle Brown, White Sand Apricot, and Amber Brown.
Equipped with Huawei’s ADS 4.0 driver assistance system, the Stelato S9T offers four levels of smart driving capability and a comprehensive sensor suite including one 192-channel LiDAR, three high-precision solid-state LiDARs, and multiple 4D millimeter-wave radars to enhance perception and safety.
The Stelato S9T will be available in both BEV (battery electric vehicle) and EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) versions, delivering exceptional electric range and strong performance tailored for various user needs. Pre-sales pricing ranges around RMB 328,000 to 380,000 (approximately $45,660 to $52,820 USD), positioning it competitively in the premium electric vehicle segment.
The Stelato S9T represents a new luxury electric wagon segment under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), which also includes four other brands: Aito from Seres, Luxeed from Chery, Maextro from JAC, and Shangjie from SAIC.
Other notable players in the electric vehicle market, such as Zeekr and Nio, have gained popularity in recent years. In June 2023, Nio's ET5 Touring wagon delivered 5,103 units, surpassing the ES6 SUV in monthly deliveries for the first time.
The Stelato S9, the only previous model, was launched on August 6, 2024, and targets the premium sedan market. BYD has also launched a wagon variant of the Seal 06 DM-i with a starting price of $15,320.
In conclusion, the Stelato S9T combines luxury, advanced Huawei smart technology, sophisticated design, and practical wagon versatility, aiming to cater to premium EV buyers who value space, technology, and safety.
