HRS Opens Barcelona Subsidiary to Boost Spanish Hydrogen Refueling
HRS Hydrogen Refueling Solutions, a leader in green hydrogen technology, has opened its first international subsidiary in Barcelona, Spain. The new office aims to accelerate the development of hydrogen refueling networks in the Iberian Peninsula, with a goal to refuel vehicles with 100% green hydrogen within three years.
HRS, founded by Hassen Rachedi, has already established a strong presence in Spain, selling nine hydrogen stations in the region. The company projects an annual revenue of EUR 29 million for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, demonstrating its confidence in the Spanish market. Rachedi highlights Spain's advantages for hydrogen station installation, citing its commitment to renewable energy and supportive regulatory environment.
HRS works with local suppliers for installing and maintaining its hydrogen stations, fostering economic growth and job creation in the region. The company has established 70 hydrogen refueling stations across Europe and the United States, and Spain plans to have more than 150 such stations by 2030, reflecting its ambition to become a global leader in hydrogen fuel cell technology.
HRS's commitment to Spain is a significant step towards its internationalization strategy. With its new Barcelona subsidiary, the company aims to accelerate the development of green hydrogen refueling networks, contributing to Spain's goal of having more than 150 hydrogen refueling stations by 2030.
