Hellenic Cables Wins Major Contract for East Anglia Two Offshore Wind Farm
Hellenic Cables has secured a significant contract for the East Anglia Two offshore wind farm in Great Britain. The Greek company will supply around 165 kilometres of 66 kV inter-array cables and associated accessories, following a deal with Seaway7.
The East Anglia Two project, situated in the southern North Sea, was chosen in the UK's latest Contract for Difference (CfD) Allocation Round 6. Hellenic Cables will commence manufacturing at its Corinth plant in 2026, with final deliveries expected by mid-2027.
The 960 MW project will utilise 64 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-236 DD wind turbines, installed on monopiles provided by Sif. Cadeler will oversee the installation. The inter-array cables, responsible for connecting the turbines, will be manufactured and supplied by Hellenic Cables. This is the second such contract for the company, following a previous deal for the East Anglia Three project. Kostas Savvakis, Hellenic Cables' General Manager, expressed satisfaction in continuing the collaboration with Seaway7 and ScottishPower Renewables for the East Anglia offshore hub.
Hellenic Cables' contract for the East Anglia Two offshore wind farm demonstrates the company's growing presence in Great Britain's renewable energy sector. The project's progress is a significant step towards Great Britain's offshore wind targets.
