Hamas urged by Trump to liberate all remaining captives
In a significant development, US President Donald Trump has called for the immediate release of all hostages in the Gaza Strip, following a devastating war that claimed over 1,200 lives on the Israeli side. The message, addressed directly to the Islamic Hamas, was delivered on the Truth Social platform.
The Gaza war, considered the worst massacre in the history of Israel, was triggered by a massacre carried out by terrorists of Hamas and other extremist Palestinian organizations near the border with the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. About 1,200 people were killed in this attack initiated by Hamas and allied groups on that date.
The current number of hostages in the Gaza Strip is 48, of whom 20 are believed to be alive. Trump's message specifically stated that the hostages should not be released in parts (2, 5, or 7). The message from Trump indicated that the situation would end if all hostages are released, and he wrote that the situation would change quickly if this happens.
The USA, Qatar, and Egypt are currently mediating in indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas. It remains to be seen whether Trump's call for immediate action will lead to a resolution and the safe return of the hostages. The world watches with bated breath, hoping for a peaceful end to this tragic situation.
