Funding for a plastics-focused initiative unveiled in Weißandt-Gölzau, with the aim of fortifying the region's plastic-manufacturing businesses.

The State of Saxony-Anhalt has announced the funding of a new project aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of local plastic companies. The "Development of a Competence Center for Recycling and Upcycling of Plastic Waste ReKA - The Path to Sustainability" is being sponsored by the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety, and Energy Technology UMSICHT.

The project, which is being photographed by the Institute for Plastics Technology and Recycling, is expected to be operational as an accredited partner for companies in the region, providing research and development structure and know-how. The total costs of the project amount to 16,750,000 €, with the federal government contributing 13,567,000 € and the state of Saxony-Anhalt contributing 1,507,000 €.

Minister-President Dr. Reiner Haseloff announced the funding of the project, stating that it will focus on the recycling and upcycling of plastic waste. The competence center will be a unique facility with influence in the plastics industry, located in the State of Saxony-Anhalt.

The project is being carried out by the Institute for Plastics Technology and Recycling in Weißandt-Gölzau, which will serve as the project carrier for the Competence Center. The institute has already begun work on the project, which is being funded within the framework of the "Saxony-Anhalt Region 2038" program.

The state government has released a photograph of the project for public viewing, and it is expected to be completed within the framework of the same program. The project aims to not only improve the competitiveness of local plastic companies but also contribute to a more sustainable future for the region.

With the launch of the Competence Center for Recycling and Upcycling of Plastic Waste ReKA, Saxony-Anhalt continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the plastics industry. The center is expected to have a significant impact on the region's plastics industry and pave the way for a more sustainable future.
