Fresh 2025 model trams have just arrived in Krasnodar

In Russia's Krasnodar, two new tram cars from Ust-Katavsky Car-Building Plant have made their way to the Western Tram Depot. This acquisition is part of a concession agreement with LLC "Sinaragtr Krasnodar."

According to Krasnodar's Mayor Evgeny Naumov, Ust-Katavsky Car-Building Plant has emerged as a reliable supplier for the city's tram fleet. The new tram cars boast low-floor structures for easier passenger access and powerful air conditioning systems, specifically designed to withstand the region's heat.

Once testing and commissioning works are completed, the cars will be officially inducted into the Western Tram Depot's inventory, subject to successful inspection, Naumov announced via his Telegram channel. The third car from the same manufacturer is expected to arrive at the depot on May 24. Each car accommodates 32 seated passengers and can transport up to 120 in total.

This year, Krasnodar is slated to receive 50 such new trams under the concession, an increase from the 40 cars procured last year. By the end of 2026, the city hopes to deploy 90 single-section and 10 three-section tram cars from the Ust-Katavasy Plant on its routes, as reported by the Krasnodar Administration's press service.

In related developments, Krasnodar has also purchased 130 trams, electric buses, and buses during 2024, as per other reports.

No specific details regarding Krasnodar's tram concession agreement or additional transport purchases beyond 2026 were available at the time of publication. For more comprehensive and up-to-date information, it is advisable to consult official releases from the Krasnodar municipal transport department or recent news reports focused on the city's public transportation projects.

The Ust-Katavsky Car-Building Plant, known for its reliability, not only supplies trams to Krasnodar's fleet but also the automotive industry, as 130 trams, electric buses, and buses were purchased from them in 2024. Furthermore, the finance sector plays a significant role in Krasnodar's transportation expansion, with plans to acquire 50 more trams from the same plant this year, following the concession agreement with LLC "Sinaragtr Krasnodar," which extends to the year 2026, and potentially beyond, depending on future developments in the industry.
