Forever 21 starts its latest venture at J.C. Penney outlets
Hey folks, buckle up! We've got some exciting news for you. J.C. Penney's shaking things up and embracing the West Coast vibe, thanks to a new partnership with Forever 21!
Starting Monday, you'll be able to find Forever 21 products at an astounding 100 J.C. Penney stores and on their website. From snazzzy tops to hip bottoms, and stylish dresses, this collection is bound to set your world aflame!
In the Fashion Biz, a Trendy Tango
J.C. Penney is jumping on the fast-fashion bandwagon to appeal to the Gen Z crowd through this snazzy deal with Forever 21.
Michelle Wlazlo, J.C. Penney's chief merchandising officer, waxed lyrical about the partnership, stating, "Forever 21 and JCPenney share a mission to make the latest trends accessible to all while inspiring unique style and confidence."
Now, you might be thinking about their pasts, and you'd be right. Both companies have weathered bankruptcy storms. Family-owned Forever 21 filed for Chapter 11 in September 2019, and J.C. Penney followed suit in 2020. But the story doesn't end there!
A New Dawn
Fast forward to February 2020, where Authentic Brands Group (ABG) and mall developers Simon Property Group and Brookfield Property Partners scooped up Forever 21. Simon Property Group decided to sell off its stake in Forever 21 this year, but that doesn't mean they've forgotten about the brand. In fact, they're bringing "a lot" of it to J.C. Penney!
J.C. Penney was also saved from the brink of bankruptcy by Simon Property Group and Brookfield Asset Management, who bought the company in December 2020. ABG, partners with Simon Property in the Sparc Group, are planning to bring several beloved brands, including Forever 21 and Eddie Bauer, into J.C. Penney.
Fashion Unites Generations
With Forever 21's knack for styling the Gen Z crowd and J.C. Penney's dedication to serving multiple generations, this union promises to make a splash in the fashion world.
According to Jarrod Weber, group president of lifestyle and chief brand officer at Authentic Brands Group, "Forever 21's relationship with the Generation Z customer is a perfect alignment for JCPenney."
Fresh Fashion Finds Waiting Around the Corner
J.C. Penney's not slowing down, either! In early December, they announced a clothing collection with Sports Illustrated, another ABG brand. This collection, affectionately dubbed "Sports Illustrated for JCPenney," is set to grace their stores and website starting January 6, 20XX.
So, there you have it! Forever 21's fresh and trendy threads are coming to J.C. Penney, and we can't wait to see what other exciting developments this partnership has in store! Stay tuned for more updates!
