Ford's Power Promise Extension for Canada: Complimentary Electric Vehicle Charger and Setup Services
Ford has announced the expansion of its Power Promise program to Canada, aiming to encourage more Canadians to adopt electric vehicles (EVs). The program, previously available only in the U.S., is now accessible to customers in Canada, offering a range of incentives to make the transition to EVs more appealing.
In response to record-breaking EV sales in Canada, with a 66.1% increase in electric vehicle sales in 2024 compared to the previous year, Ford has partnered with RocketEV Charging Solutions Inc., a Canadian company, to handle the installation process for the Power Promise program in Canada.
The Power Promise program offer is valid between February 1 and March 31, 2025. During this period, customers purchasing or leasing a new Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, or E-Transit will receive a free home charger and standard installation for their vehicles.
For Quebec residents, while the free charger offer does not apply, a discounted home charger and standard installation bundle is available for $2,450, down from its estimated retail price of $3,600. This special pricing is intended to help with the cost of adoption, addressing one of the concerns that some potential EV customers in Canada have expressed.
Bev Goodman, president and CEO of Ford Canada, stated that the Power Promise program is designed to make customers across Canada feel confident in their choice of Ford electric vehicles and the powertrain that suits them. The convenience of home charging, highlighted as a key factor in making the switch to electric vehicles possible, is at the heart of this initiative.
The partner of Ford in Canada responsible for the installation of home chargers for the Power Promise program is FLO, a Canadian company providing the FLO Home X6 EV Charger and installation services.
However, some of Ford's customers in Canada remain hesitant to switch to electric vehicles due to concerns about charging availability, installation costs, and long-term battery reliability. The Power Promise program, with its comprehensive range of incentives, aims to address these concerns and facilitate a smoother transition to electric vehicles for Canadians.
