FedEx Announces Major Price Hikes and Service Changes for 2026

FedEx has announced a series of price increases and service changes, effective from January 2026. The international shipping giant has already raised its processing fee and plans to introduce new surcharges, along with a significant increase in standard list rates for USPS and UPS package shipping.

On August 18, 2025, FedEx upped its international processing fee from $1.50 to $2.50. Looking ahead, the company will implement changes in two phases, starting January 5 and January 12, 2026. These include applying surcharges per package instead of per shipment for Date Certain Home Delivery, Evening Home Delivery, and Appointment Home Delivery. Additionally, a cubic volume criterion will be added to the Additional Handling Surcharge — Dimension and Oversize Charge, targeting packages with volumes over 10,368 cubic inches and 17,280 cubic inches, or weighing over 110 lbs.

Further, FedEx will hike additional surcharges in January 2026. Notably, standard list rates for UPS package shipping will rise by 5.9%, following similar increases in 2024 and 2025. This increase is not linked to US import tariff hikes and will affect several international shipping services.

In summary, FedEx has initiated an international processing fee increase, with more price hikes and service changes slated for January 2026. The 5.9% rise in standard list rates for UPS package shipping is the latest in a series of annual increases. Shippers should brace for these changes and adjust their budgets accordingly.
