Expo Recap: Honda, International Motors, Philatron, CargeTronix, OpConnect, and Proterra Highlights from the Automotive Technology Conference

The much-anticipated ACT Expo 2025 in Anaheim, California, kicked off yesterday, April 28th, with a flurry of discussions and unveilings in the world of commercial vehicle technology. The event, known for its focus on sustainable transportation solutions, saw a broad spectrum of innovations and announcements this year.

While there were no specific, widely reported announcements or showcased innovations from Honda, International Motors, Philatron, ChargeTronix, OpConnect, or Proterra, the event was rich with insights into the future of commercial vehicle electrification.

The expo highlighted an expanding focus beyond pure electric vehicles, with growing interest in alternatives such as natural gas, propane, and hybrid solutions. Autonomous and software-defined vehicles were also major topics, with Hyundai Motor and Plus making notable announcements about an autonomous hydrogen freight ecosystem concept.

One of the most intriguing developments came from ChargeTronix, who introduced 240 KW chargers for both fleet and passenger vehicles. These chargers offer fast charging in just 20 minutes for light-duty vehicles and an hour for heavy-duty vehicles, marking a significant leap in charging efficiency. The Nexus system from ChargeTronix can charge Class 6 to 8 trucks to 80% in just 30 minutes and supports up to 16 charging outputs.

Meanwhile, ChargeTronix also unveiled its latest EV charging solutions, including the 1,280 KW Nexus Distributed Charging System for commercial fleets. This system promises to revolutionise charging infrastructure for electric commercial vehicles.

In another exciting development, Proterra Powered LLC launched its new H2-23 battery pack, part of the Onyx Strata series. Designed for Class 8 trucks and demanding commercial uses, the H2-23 offers Proterra's highest energy density yet.

OpConnect will showcase its new Mark IV Level 2 Charger at the ACT Expo 2025, designed for fleets, workplaces, and multi-unit dwellings. The Mark IV Charger features dual 100-amp ports capable of delivering 19.2 kW each simultaneously.

Philatron Wire and Cable will exhibit at the ACT Expo 2025, showcasing its latest innovations in EV charging cable technology. Their Subzero EV Charging Cables are engineered for extreme cold and harsh conditions, with flexibility down to -60°C.

International Motors, LLC will showcase customer-focused, digitally enabled solutions at ACT Expo 2025. Their digital maintenance ecosystem enables proactive service planning and increases operational efficiency.

Honda will showcase its Next-Generation Fuel Cell Module and display its Class 8 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Truck Concept at the event. Honda is targeting four key hydrogen domains: FCEVs, commercial fuel cell vehicles, stationary power, and construction machinery. The company's Fuel Cell Power Generator, a scalable stationary system, will also be showcased.

The new Honda Fuel Cell Module promises 50% lower production cost, double the durability, and three times the volumetric power density compared to its current model.

As the ACT Expo 2025 continues, we can expect more exciting developments and innovations in the world of commercial vehicle technology. For the most accurate and up-to-date information on specific company activities or product launches, checking the official websites or press releases of each company around the time of the event is recommended.
