Expansion of DWS's Executive Committee Announced

Vincenzo (Enzo) Vedda, a seasoned capital markets expert with over a decade of experience at DWS Group, is set to join the Executive Board of the company as its new Chief Investment Officer (CIO), effective from August 1, 2025.

Vedda's career at DWS has been marked by a series of key leadership roles. He joined the company in 2013 as co-head of global equities trading, took over the global trading business in 2017, and in 2020, he oversaw DWS's European client business (excluding Germany and Austria). By the end of 2022, he had become head of active portfolio management and added responsibility for passive portfolio management in 2023.

In November 2024, Vedda was appointed head investment strategist, tasked with integrating portfolio management, the chief investment office, and economic research under one strategic vision. His elevation to CIO formalises his responsibility for DWS's liquid investment business and capital markets expertise.

Stefan Hoops, CEO and chairman of the DWS management board, expressed his pleasure at Vedda joining the Executive Board, stating that Vedda's clear performance orientation and precise knowledge of clients' needs make him the right person to strategically position DWS's capital markets expertise for the future. Hoops described Vedda as an experienced capital markets expert.

As CIO, Vedda will oversee the global investment platform, including leading the equity platform with over $126 billion in assets under management and approximately 70 investment professionals. He will manage and coordinate senior investment leaders, such as the global head of equities, enhancing DWS’s capital markets strategy and client-focused performance.

Vedda's leadership reflects a clear orientation towards innovation, integration of investment functions, and strategic positioning of DWS’s asset management capabilities. Hoops expects Vedda to deliver the added value DWS's clients expect from the firm.

In summary, Vedda's career at DWS spans from trading leadership roles through broad client business and portfolio management oversight, to executive-level strategic responsibilities as CIO. His contributions centre on unifying investment functions, driving capital markets expertise, and aligning investment strategies with client expectations to deliver added value.

In his new role as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at DWS, Vedda will be responsible for overseeing the company's liquid investment business and capital markets expertise, integrating portfolio management, the chief investment office, and economic research under one strategic vision.

As a seasoned capital markets expert, Vedda's leadership at DWS reflects a clear focus on innovation, integrating investment functions, and positioning the company's capital markets strategy and client-focused performance.
