European Parliament Approves Resolution on European Social Fund Allocation

The Federal Employment Agency (BA) is making significant changes to its informational materials, with the "Brief Information on Citizens' Benefit" leaflet set to be available only in German and easy-to-read language, starting from the current date.

This shift comes as part of an effort to streamline and focus the agency's informational materials, likely in response to changes in demand or resource allocation. The English version of this leaflet will be discontinued by January 2026. Other languages, such as Arabic, Bulgarian, French, Farsi (Persian), Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian, and Turkish, will still be available on the BA's website.

The BA developed the "Brief Information on Citizens' Benefit" due to increased immigration. The leaflet explains the process for foreigners to receive Citizens' Benefit, including health and long-term care insurance. The Citizens' Benefit page remains available in English for those who require it.

The discontinuation of the multilingual distribution of the information leaflet aligns with recent administrative updates aimed at optimising communication channels within federal agencies. If you require the English leaflet after discontinuation, alternative support or translations might be provided upon request by the agency.

It's worth noting that the Arabic version of the leaflet recently circulated on social media and received criticism for allegedly promoting Citizens' Benefit internationally. However, the search results do not specifically state reasons for the discontinuation, and such measures typically occur to improve efficiency or redirect resources.

The BA aims to provide information to those who may soon be eligible for Citizens' Benefit. Starting in 2026, fill-in instructions for Citizens' Benefit application forms in Ukrainian, Russian, and English will be discontinued.

The agency has a fundamental duty to inform benefit recipients. There have been calls for a Citizens' Benefit reform from various political sectors, with Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder (CSU) proposing stripping all Ukrainians of Citizens' Benefit. Future benefit recipients may face stronger sanctions for missing appointments, although the specifics of these sanctions have yet to be detailed.

These changes are part of a broader effort to streamline and optimise the delivery of information and services within the Federal Employment Agency. As always, it's essential to stay informed about these developments to ensure you can navigate the changes effectively.
