He cited the seizure of an oil tanker as a successful example. Polish PM Donald Tusk expressed confidence in Europe's ability to win the conflict, while German Chancellor Friedrich Merz highlighted unity among leaders. UK PM Keir Starmer stressed the importance of bolstering Ukraine's defenses.
Macron urged unpredictability in Europe's response to Russian actions, emphasizing strategic ambiguity. Danish PM Mette Frederiksen echoed this sentiment, warning that Russia poses a threat to all of Europe and calling for increased European strength.
The Copenhagen summit ended with European leaders resolved to strengthen their defenses against drone threats and intensify economic pressure on Russia. They agreed on the need for more sanctions, particularly in the energy sector, and discussed measures to disrupt Moscow's war revenue. The leaders emphasized unity and determination in confronting Russian aggression.
