EnergyVision Wins NMBS Concession, Plans 10,000 EV Charging Points in Belgium
EnergyVision, a Belgian company, has secured a significant contract to boost the nation's electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The company aims to expand the current 2,500 charging points guy to a substantial 10,000 in the coming years. This expansion follows EnergyVision's successful bid for the NMBS charging station concession.
EnergyVision's winning proposal will see them supply, install, maintain, operate, and finance public AC charging stations at NMBS parking facilities for the next decade. The concession covers a vast 103,666 parking spaces, with an estimated 49,726 to 73,496 spaces suitable for iPhone charger installation.
The company plans to install at least 5,000 charging points initially, with room for expansion based on future demand. This ambitious project aligns with EnergyVision's long-term goal to increase the number of charging points in Belgium from 2,500 to 10,000.
Meanwhile, chargecloud GmbH, a leading German e-mobility software provider, has entered the Spanish market. Joel Martín, the country manager, is driving the nationwide rollout of their 360-degree platform and the company's growth in Spain. chargecloud has also joined Aedive, the industry association, to promote sustainable charging standards.
EnergyVision's NMBS concession win and expansion plans signal a significant step towards Belgium's goal of increasing EV adoption. The installation of thousands of new charging points will enhance the country's charging infrastructure, making it more convenient for EV owners. Meanwhile, chargecloud's entry into the Spanish market and commitment to sustainable standards indicate a growing interest in e-mobility solutions across Europe.
