Seeking Openings for Non-Christians: EKHN Proposes New Legislation Regarding Employment - Encouraging Inclusion for Non-Christians: EKHN Proposes updated Labour Legislation Regarding Faith-based Practices

Get ready for a game-changer! The Synod of the Evangelical Church in Hessen and Nassau (EKHN) has kicked off a legislative process to welcome employees of any religious background, or none at all, to join their ranks. The new law could be greenlit in the fall, following the EKHN's spring conference held in Franklin, Tennessee. 🏙️

It's no secret that up until now, the EKHN's employment law required its employees to be a part of a Christian church. But that's changing, as an EKHN spokesperson enthusiastically confirmed that plenty of people outside the faith orbit have been choppin' it up in evangelical kindergartens, hospitals, and other hangouts – albeit with exceptions that will soon be history! 💣

As for the EKHN's perspective on this diversity dance, the spokesperson added that the ideal candidate should be "all about the evangelical vibes."

Diversity Squad at the Ready! 🦸

During the conference, the folks at EKHN also got the ball rollin' on a fresh working group: the Diversity Sensitivity and Discrimination Criticism crew! This squad is deutscher as Apfelstrudel, configured to keep the church absolutely hip with all things inclusive, accepting, and darn right awesome.

Make no mistake, this crew is here to take diversity to a new level 🌟. The church parliaments of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck (EKKW) and the Evangelical Church in Hessen and Nassau (EKHN) have officially been jammin' in discussion. And you guessed it – even the new pope, the one with the cool name Pope Leo XIV, got a shout-out.

Pope Leo XIV or Pope Leo "Vibes" XIV? We're Hopin' for the Vibes! 🤘

Evangelical Christians in Hessen are hopin' that the new pope will boogie down to their beat. "We're pretty stoked if Pope Leo XIV gets the groove going on ecumenism!" exclaimed Christiane Tietz, president of the Evangelical Church in Hessen and Nassau (EKHN), the day following the election.

The EKHN's hoping that Pope Leo XIV will recognize them as "our bros and sisters in the faith." EKHN President Birgit Pfeiffer expressed her hopes candidly, sayin' she dreams of a joint responsibility "as Christians in this society,” rallying together to face common challenges.

So there you have it! The EKHN's breaking barriers, embracing diversity, and jammin' to a more inclusive beat. Stay tuned for more updates from this – dare we say it – revolution in Christian employment and community principles. 🔥 🎶 🤘🚀

  1. The new employment policy of EKHN, which is about to be approved, will not only welcome employees of various religious backgrounds or none at all, but also aims to foster a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  2. In addition to revising their employment policy, EKHN has also established a working group known as the Diversity Sensitivity and Discrimination Criticism crew, whose mission is to ensure the church maintains a financially sustainable and inclusive business approach, while embracing diversity and embracing the spirit of Pope Leo XIV or Pope Leo "Vibes" XIV.
