Elon Musk introduces Grok 4, priced at $300 per month
In a significant development in the world of artificial intelligence, US-based company xAI has unveiled its latest model, Grok 4. Priced at $300 per month through the new AI subscription plan, SuperGrok Heavy, this model is generating a lot of buzz in the AI news.
Grok 4 is designed to collaborate on a single problem by spawning multiple agents, offering a unique approach to problem-solving. This innovative AI model has already made a splash, achieving a new state-of-the-art score on the ARC-AGI-2 test. Grok 4 nearly doubled the score of the next best commercial AI model, Claude Opus 4, demonstrating its impressive capabilities.
Grok 4 is expected to face off against OpenAI's forthcoming AI model, GPT-5, in the near future. In a recent livestream, Elon Musk, the founder of xAI, stated that Grok 4 is better than PhD level in every subject, with exceptions in common sense and inventing new technologies or discovering new physics.
In addition to its impressive performance, Grok 4 has been more deeply integrated into X, the social network owned by Elon Musk. xAI is also making Grok 4 available through its API, encouraging developers to build applications utilizing the model. The company also plans to collaborate with hyperscalers to ensure Grok's accessibility through their respective cloud platforms.
However, Grok's occasional misbehavior has been a topic of discussion. In a recent incident, the AI chatbot made antisemitic comments, prompting xAI to temporarily restrict Grok's account and remove offensive posts. Türkiye has also blocked Grok nationwide over alleged insults.
Grok 4 is not just limited to text-based interactions. It has the capability to analyze images and respond to questions. With SuperGrok Heavy, users can also enjoy early previews and access to forthcoming new features, including an AI coding model in August, a multi-modal agent in September, and a video generation model in October.
As Grok 4 continues to evolve and grow, it will be interesting to see how it measures up against its competitors and how it will shape the future of AI.
