In the coming months, Singapore's Circle Line (CCL) will undergo adjustments to its train services to facilitate engineering works and allow for longer engineering hours. Between Sep 5 and Dec 28, 2025, train services will start later at 9:00 am on Saturdays and Sundays and end earlier at 11:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays on most weekends.

The adjustments are necessary to dedicate longer hours for systems integration and compatibility testing across the entire Circle Line. These preparations are part of the preparations for the opening of the Circle Line Stage 6, expected in the first half of 2026. The new integrated supervisory control system, which the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and operator SMRT have already installed in July, will align with the operation of the expanded line.

During late openings on weekends, shuttle bus services will be provided between HarbourFront and Bishan (Shuttle 36) and between Bishan and Promenade (Shuttle 37). However, no shuttle services run during early closures on Fridays and Saturdays, so commuters should plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time in view of the service adjustments.

Commuters are advised to plan their journeys in advance and refer to LTA's MyTransport.SG mobile app, and LTA's and SMRT's social media platforms for more details. When CCL stage 6 opens, commuters can expect improved access to various destinations due to the completion of the loop. The completion of the CCL loop will provide a faster and more direct route to and through the Marina Bay area.

Commuters from areas such as Paya Lebar and Mountbatten will have more direct access to the central business district, HarbourFront, and Kent Ridge areas. Notices will be displayed at affected stations and nearby bus stops to inform commuters of the service adjustments.

When completed, there will be a total of 33 stations along the entire CCL line, including the three new stations: Keppel, Cantonment, and Prince Edward Road, which will be part of CCL stage 6. The weekends of Oct 3 to 5, Nov 28 to 30, and Dec 5 to 7 will not be affected, and train services will operate at regular hours during those days.

The next phase of works involves systems integration testing across the entire CCL to ensure reliable service when CCL stage 6 becomes operational. For more updates and information, commuters are encouraged to stay tuned to the LTA's and SMRT's official channels.

To cater for the increased demands after the opening of the Circle Line Stage 6, the transportation sector might require additional funding from the finance industry. The improved public-transit system, resulting from the integration of the Circle Line, will significantly impact various industries such as retail, commerce, and finance, in and around the Marina Bay area.
