DSV Appoints Maciej Walenda as New CEO of Contract Logistics
DSV has appointed Maciej Walenda as the new CEO of its Contract Management division. This follows the recent acquisition of DB Schenker and several key appointments to the Group Executive Committee.
Maciej Walenda, who joined DSV in 2013, has held several prominent roles within the company. He previously served as managing director of Poland and executive vice-president for Central and East Europe. His appointment comes after Albert-Derk Bruin, who had been with DSV for 15 years, including as executive vice-president, announced his departure.
Following the acquisition of DB Schenker in April for €14.3 billion ($16.3 billion), DSV has welcomed Helmut Schweighofer, Vishal Sharma, and Saskia Blochberger to its Group Executive Committee. They join from Schenker. DSV's group COO, Brian Ejsing, has expressed confidence in Walenda's ability to lead the Contract Management division.
Maciej Walenda takes the helm of DSV's Contract Management division, bringing his extensive experience within the company. His appointment, along with the integration of Schenker's executives, signals DSV's commitment to strengthening its leadership and driving growth following the acquisition.
