Dog Trainer Fined for Misreporting Income to Claim Benefits

A dog trainer from the Oderland region has been penalised for misreporting her income to receive social security benefits. The Regional Court Frankfurt (Oder) imposed a fine of 120 daily rates of 40 EUR each, totalling 4,800 EUR.

The trainer, who has not been named publicly, claimed to earn only 100 EUR per month. However, her actual income over a 12-month period was over 32,000 EUR. This discrepancy led to her wrongfully receiving almost 15,280 EUR in benefits from the Federal Employment Agency and the Jobcenter.

Investigations revealed that her additional income sources included consulting, selling pet food, dog photoshoots, and delivering handmade dog supplies. The court ordered the seizure of the acquired value.

The dog trainer's false income declarations violated the Social Security Act III. The court's decision sends a clear message that such actions will not be tolerated. The seized funds will be used to recover the wrongfully obtained benefits.
