Diversions of Buses to Solingen, Haan, and Leichlingen: Route Changes Announced for Carnival Celebrations

People's Map: This Carnival weekend, Solingen, Leichlingen, and Haan are ready to paint the town red! But hey, the festivities don't come without hiccups in public transport. The Transportation Department of Solingen City Works, ya know, those highway heroes, are spilling the beans on detours and closed bus stops due to the Carnival parades.

Rosenmontag: Change of Scene in Solingen

On Monday, March 3, it's the groovy Rosenmontag parade's turn to take over Solingen's city center. From 1:30 PM, it's a wrap for buses on Mumm Street, parts of Cologne Street, Graf Wilhelm Square, and the riverside garden. Buses on the affected lines are gonna hitch a ride at alternative stops.

During the parade, these stops are taking a rain check: Mühlenplatz, Graf-Wilhelm-Platz, Entenpfuhl, Werwolf, and Wupperstraße. Buses on O-Bus lines 681 and 682 (to and from Ohligs), line 683 (to and from Wuppertal-Vohwinkel), line 684 (Hasselstraße), and line 686 (Aufderhöhe) will catch their ride at the town hall. And let's not forget bus lines 690, 692, 693, and 695, which are hopping on detours.

Lines 689, 691, 694, 697, and 699 are, luckily, sitting this one out.

Carnival Vibes in Leichlingen and Haan

Over in Leichlingen, the party's already started today, Saturday, March 1, with the Nelkensamstag celebrations. Buses on line 694 will veer off at the Birkenstraße stop. The following stops are MIA: Ziegwebersberg, Windgesheide, Poststraße, and Leichlingen Busbahnhof.

Tomorrow, Sunday, March 2, Haan is inviting the Carnival parade for a dance. From 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM, Kaiserstraße might be a bit disrupted. If needed, line 692 will parks its bus at the Itteltalstraße stop. The Kirchstraße, Haan-Markt, and Martin-Luther-Straße stops will be exhibiting the 'out of order' sign in this situation. Solingen City Works wants passengers to stay clued up on alternative connections beforehand.

In Leichlingen and Haan, the Carnival festivities could potentially affect the local industry and finance sectors, as well, since altered bus routes and closures might disrupt the activities of businesses and residents in these areas.
