Dielmar Eyes Madrid Expansion, Targets Five Stores
Dielmar, a prominent Portuguese fashion firm, is eyeing expansion in Madrid, its second-largest market after Portugal. The company, known for its men's ready-to-wear clothing, particularly suits, is currently present in 28 multi-brand stores across Spain but has no foothold in the capital city. Dielmar's creative director, Antonio Simões, has ambitious plans for Madrid, aiming to open five stores.
Dielmar's international expansion strategy focuses on multi-brand stores, with no standalone outlets planned outside Portugal. The company is actively negotiating with potential partners in Madrid, with five commercial agents currently engaged in talks. Despite the global economic downturn in 2009, which saw Dielmar's revenue dip to 15.3 million euros, the company remains optimistic about its growth prospects.
Looking ahead, Dielmar has its sights set on entering the United States and Brazil in the short term. The fashion firm is actively seeking partners to facilitate this expansion. Currently, Dielmar's presence extends to Italy, Norway, Azerbaijan, Russia, Belgium, and Germany, in addition to its stronghold in Portugal and Spain.
