DHL to Resume Delivery of All Shipments to the United States - Delivery service company DHL is gearing up to transport all parcels within the United States.
In a significant development, global courier service DHL has announced the resumption of package deliveries to the United States. The decision comes after the clarification of processes following the implementation of new regulations by the current US President, Donald Trump, who began his second term on January 20, 2025.
The new regulations, which ended the De-minimis duty exemption for small packages starting August 29, 2025, had caused confusion and restrictions in many countries. DHL, however, maintained that the tariffs imposed by the US President did not affect their ability to transport packages.
The restrictions applied to packages valued at more than 100 US dollars, affecting both business and private customers. The confusion arose due to the unclear processes surrounding these new regulations, leading DHL to halt the service temporarily.
However, with the recent clarification of these processes, DHL is now able to resume its normal service. Nikola Hagleitner, a spokesperson for DHL, stated that the company halted the service due to insufficient details on how the processes should proceed. He also added that there is more information coming from the USA regarding calculations and settlements.
The lifting of the restrictions has been welcomed by customers, as the delivery of letters and packages to the USA decreased by more than 80 percent due to the Trump-imposed tariffs, according to UN figures. The media group Funke Mediengruppe was not mentioned in relation to these developments.
In conclusion, DHL is resuming the transport of all packages to the USA, marking a significant step towards normalising international trade and package deliveries. The company remains committed to providing efficient and reliable services to its customers, despite the challenges posed by changing regulations.
