The unpaid fees, totalling 113,400 euros, dated back to 2022 and included late fees. During the inspection, the travel company settled part of the claims, transferring 50,000 euros immediately. Border enforcement, permitted for public-law financial claims, targeted the foreign-based debtor in this case. The bus was part of a PGA tour that passed through Konstanz, with the Central Enforcement Office for Border Auctions (ZVStG) located at the Main Customs Office Punsere Plattformdam overseeing the operation.
The incident highlights the enforcement of financial claims at borders, with customs officials intercepting the tour bus and recovering a significant portion of the outstanding fees. The travel company's immediate settlement of part of the debt demonstrates their cooperation with authorities.
