Customs Inspection Uncovers Irregularities in Taxi and Rental Car Sector
Customs authorities recently conducted a large-scale inspection in the taxi and rental car sector, revealing potential irregularities and leading to multiple criminal proceedings. Over 900 customs enforcement officers were involved in the operation, which lasted several days. They inspected around 30 companies, although the names of these companies remain undisclosed. The inspections resulted in four criminal proceedings, including cases related to illegal residence. Additionally, nearly 30 investigations were launched due to non-cooperation with the inspection. Officials found indications of potential irregularities in approximately 500 cases. The enforcement officers conducted over 260 business record checks and interviewed nearly 1,600 drivers about their employment conditions.
