Court Seizes €9.8M from Pan Metals AG in Illegal Mercury Trading Probe
The Regional Court of Essen has ordered the seizure of €9,815,426.92 from a Swiss stock corporation, Pan Metals AG. The company is under investigation by the Special Public Prosecutor's Office for Economic and Financial Crime in Bochum for illegal mercury trading between 2011 and 2013.
Pan Metals AG is accused of selling approximately 1,000 tons of mercury on the world market during the mentioned period, instead of disposing of it legally. This illegal activity resulted in significant profits for the perpetrators. The seizure is part of an independent procedure initiated at the request of the specialized public prosecutor's office in Bochum. However, the decision is not yet final.
The Regional Court of Essen's order to seize €9,815,426.92 from Pan Metals AG is a significant step in the ongoing investigation into the company's alleged illegal metal trading activities. The seized funds will be held pending the final decision in the case.
