Corning & QuantumScape Team Up to Advance Solid-State Battery Tech

Corning Incorporated and QuantumScape Corporation have joined forces to advance solid-state battery technology. The collaboration, led by Ron Verkleeren, Senior Vice President of Corning's Emerging Innovations Group, and Dr. Siva Sivaram, CEO and President of QuantumScape, aims to rapidly industrialize QuantumScape's innovative battery solutions.

The partnership brings together QuantumScape's expertise in materials science and Corning's manufacturing prowess. The goal is to establish an ecosystem of partners to achieve high-volume production of QuantumScape's ceramic separators for commercial applications.

Verkleeren expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the potential of QuantumScape's next-generation battery technology. Dr. Sivaram echoed this sentiment, noting that Corning's capabilities in ceramic manufacturing make it an ideal partner for QuantumScape's technology ecosystem.

QuantumScape and Corning have agreed to jointly develop ceramic separator manufacturing capabilities for QuantumScape's solid-state batteries. The partnership seeks to accelerate the adoption of advanced battery technology, paving the way for improved electric vehicle performance and energy storage solutions.
