Construction of housing in Tomsk in 2024 reaches highest level in 6 years
Tomsk Sets New Housing Record in 2024: Mansion of 200,000 Meter Squared
Hailing a new record, the city of Tomsk saw a staggering 200,000 square meters of residential property enter the market in 2024. Mayor Dmitriy Mahiny announced this during his report on the city administration's performance over the past year, expressing relief over the marked improvement in the housing sector.
Previously, the city administration had expressed concerns about the volume of housing supply. In 2021, Tomsk saw the construction of five multi-unit buildings, with individual housing accounting for almost 99,000 out of 153,800 square meters. The figures for 2022 stood at 120,000 square meters, and 195,000 in 2023.
"Tomsk exceeded the previous record of 221,400 square meters set in 2018", Mahiny stated. He also confirmed the upcoming realization of two more KRT projects: one on Vo(д)яnoĭ and another on Aэродромnoĭ streets.
The regional KRT law, passed by the authorities at the end of 2021, aims to develop areas with dilapidated housing and vacant land parcels. The investor responsible for the development must submit and obtain approval for a master plan that includes multi-story residential buildings, social facilities, and infrastructure.
As for the specifics of the two projects on Vo(д)яnoĭ and Aэродромnopuis streets, the details remain scarce. They could be known under different terms or abbreviations, or the information might not yet be publicly available. Nonetheless, besides these two projects, 11 KRT projects are currently underway in Tomsk.
- The city administration's approval for the master plan of the KRT projects on Vo(д)яnoĭ and Aэродромnoĭ streets, as part of the regional KRT law, will involve investments in multi-story residential buildings, social facilities, and infrastructure.
- The newly established residential properties in Tomsk, which smashed the previous record of 221,400 square meters set in 2018, are expected to significantly impact the housing-market and real-estate sector.
- In 2024, with a remarkable 200,000 square meters of residential property entering the market, Tomsk's finance department is poised to reap the benefits from the sudden housing boom.
- Mayor Dmitriy Mahiny, expressed optimism that the city administration's focus on increasing housing supply, as demonstrated by the record figures in 2024, will lead to a sustained growth in the overall prosperity of the city.
