The Lowdown on the latest mishap at the "School at the Lower Rhine - Special Needs School of the Kreis Wesel" situated on Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee, where their old gas heating system kicked the bucket. Following a careful evaluation, the city of Kamp-Lintfort, the property's owner, has opted for a budget-friendly, eco-friendly solution—connecting to the district heating network. Robert Plängsken GmbH, on behalf of Stadtwärme Kamp-Lintfort GmbH, is overseeing the works for this new connection.

Daniel Cannistra, Managing Director of Stadtwärme Kamp-Lintfort GmbH, explains the decision: "This district heating network expansion, originally planned for a later date, will provide long-term heat to our beloved students, a sustainable investment in our future. But it'll indeed disrupt traffic, especially along Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee, perhaps even until autumn 2025."

To minimize citizens' inconvenience, Stadtwerke Kamp-Lintfort GmbH will also upgrade the power grids in the city area concurrently with the extension of the district heating network. Dr. Kai Deppenkemper, Head of Network Operations of Stadtwerke Kamp-Lintfort GmbH, adds, "This includes power lines renewal and construction of a digital local network station. These improvements are crucial for a future-ready energy supply and can accommodate the school’s requested power increase."

The construction will unfold in three phases. Phase one commences at the Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee & Ringstraße intersection, proceeding up to Konradstraße, where a one-way street regulation will be enforced. In phase two, Konradstraße will be shut down, allowing residents to access their homes via Eyller Straße or Bertastraße. The final phase entails closing Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee in both directions from Konradstraße to the school, with traffic being redirected at the Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee / Stephanstraße intersection towards Friedrichstraße. Corresponding detours will be marked, and access to the Evangelical Congregation's church on Kolkschenstraße will remain accessible during this period.

While there's limited online data about this specific project, official municipal and utility company sources should offer accurate details about the timeline and specifics of the district heating expansion and power grid modernization in Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee, Kamp-Lintfort.
