L.A. Power Broker Awards Celebrate Outstanding Achievements in Real Estate

The fifth annual L.A. Power Broker Awards, co-hosted by Compass Development Marketing Group and presented by luxury real estate PR firm The Society Group, took place at the Mandarin Oriental Residences Beverly Hills. The evening was a celebration of outstanding achievements in L.A.'s vibrant real estate market over the past year.

The event began with a cocktail party in an airy and bright residence within the Mandarin Oriental. The atmosphere was filled with an unusual camaraderie, a reflection of the bonds formed in the aftermath of January's fires. This good nature was palpable throughout the evening, as realtors from various brokerages came together to support one another.

Jason Oppenheim, co-founder and managing partner of The Oppenheim Group, spoke about the galvanization of the real estate community after the L.A. fires. He expressed pride in the reaction of the industry, with brokers pulling together to help those devastated by the fires. Carl Gambino of Compass agreed, noting that this spirit of unity was evident throughout the awards ceremony.

The awards presentation acknowledged various categories, including the Rising Star Award, which went to Bryce Pennel. The Condo Sale of the Year award was won by Jonah Wilson, Sally Forster Jones, and Fridman. Drew Fenton and Linda May received the Stratospheric Sales Award for the sale of Spelling Manor.

The Agent of Historic Architecture award was presented to Rey, while Smith and Berg won the Philanthropic Impact Award for their charitable activity, including fire relief. Notably, the search results do not specify any individual person who has received an award for outstanding philanthropic activity.

The night feted powerhouse sellers on 2025 THR's Top L.A. Brokers list. Aaron Kirman and Matt Altman provided good-natured ribbing during the event. Kirman accepted the Team of the Year award for Christie's International Real Estate SoCal's $1.473 billion in total sales.

Juliette Hohnen gave a heart-tugging acceptance speech for the Celebrity Property Portfolio award. Cindy Ambuehl appreciated the casual vibe of the event, allowing for mingling among attendees. Alexander Ali showcased an adorable slideshow of agents as children, adding a light-hearted touch to the proceedings.

The evening continued with a ceremony on the Mandarin Oriental's rooftop, offering stunning views of the city. Rayni Williams was particularly adept at guessing the correct agents, adding an element of friendly competition to the night. The event concluded with attendees feeling like friends, a testament to the strong connections formed within the L.A. real estate community.
